Stunning 14 carat yellow gold Late Romanov (1894-1917) era pocket watch. The watch has a French L'Inter Cantonale movement, a Breguet lever type of movement with 22 rubies. The inner side of the back of the case shows beautiful engraved pictures and writing in french to show that the movement has won awards and is truly a beautiful quality. The other side of the back has some of the names of previous owners.The 14 carat yellow gold case is Russian and has filigree engraved initials applied and riveted to the case. One side has the initials 'BS', the other side has the initials 'ES' with the date 24/12/1925.

The inner front side of the case has an engraved message in German. This message translates to " The forehead of the artist is not crowned with roses, but with thorns that tear bloody wounds into the soul". This beautiful watch has a very clear easy to read face with a separate dial for the second hand. The watch has been serviced and checked over, it does loose a few seconds of time over the day, but it is still functioning well for a watch that has been ticking for over 100 years.
